Transport or transportation is the movement of people and goods from one location to another. Modes of transport include air, rail, road, water, cable, pipeline, and space. The field can be divided into infrastructure, vehicles, and operations.

Transport infrastructure consists of the fixed installations necessary for transport, and may be roads, railways, airways, waterways, canals and pipelines, and terminals such as airports, railway stations, bus stations, warehouses, trucking terminals, refueling depots (including fueling docks and fuel stations), and seaports. Terminals may be used both for interchange of passengers and cargo and for maintenance.

Vehicles traveling on these networks may include automobiles, bicycles, buses, trains, trucks, people, helicopters, and aircraft. Operations deal with the way the vehicles are operated, and the procedures set for this purpose including financing, legalities and policies. In the transport industry, operations and ownership of infrastructure can be either public or private, depending on the country and mode.

Passenger transport may be public, where operators provide scheduled services, or private. Freight transport has become focused on containerization, although bulk transport is used for large volumes of durable items. Transport plays an important part in economic growth and globalization, but most types cause air pollution and use large amounts of land. While it is heavily subsidized by governments, good planning of transport is essential to make traffic flow, and restrain urban sprawl.

How can you transport 3 video frequencies on the same cable without interference?
Q. You have 3 video signals from different DVD players and you have to transport them via coaxial or AV cable for a short distance without mixing them or creating interference so they can be separated. Same principle as cable TV. Any simple and cheap ideas?

A. you need to modulate them on different channels. The frequencies of video are the same so they would turn into a combined mess. so one way is to buy three rf modulators. They make them with different output frequencies, and some can be programmed. I would get two UHF and one VHF. If you get two VHF and have one on channel 3, and one on channel 4 you will probable get some interference. The UHF ones should have some channel separation too

How does one transport lunch to school and still be totally cool ?
Q. My 5th grade, 10 yo son doesn't want to take his lunch box to school in fear of looking like a nerd. The lunch box is plain, no charactures. How else can he transport the lunch and still be totally cool ?
Asked by DK - Mon Aug 27 13:57:24 2007 - - 13 Answers - 0 Comments

A. What are the other 5th graders using? My 5th and 6th graders still use lunch boxes, but so do their classmates. When we can't find our lunchboxes, we use brown paper lunch bags (though they are kind of small if you want to send a bev. and tend to break if you have an apple or other large fruit), or plastic grocery sacks. The downside of these options is the fruit bruises and the lunch gets warm, maybe even dangerously warm. String cheese and go-gurts can be frozen, and this helps to keep the lunch cooler. Or put the lunch in a paper bag inside the insulated lunchbag in his backpack. At lunchtime, voila! His lunch is cool and he is too!

What phrase describes the electron transport chain in photosynthesis?
Q. What phrase describes the electron transport chain in photosynthesis? A. A chain of photosynthetic proteins located in the storma B. A collection of enzymes used to make ADP C. A series of proteins located in the thylakoid membrane D. A group of enzymes that carries energy to the Calvin Cycle

A. I'm pretty sure the electron transport chain is in the thylakoid not the stroma and it produces ATP not ADP. So I dont think its either A or B. Since protein complexes on the thylakoid membrane are involved in driving the electron transport chain I think the answer is C though I'm not 100% sure.
